Design / LuminariasThe luminaires of Paulina Ortiz/ arte + diseño were chosen for illuminating TROPIKA, the house designed by the TEC Team (a multidisciplinary group of Costa Rica Institute of Technology students) and selected to participate in the 2014 Solar Decathlon in Versailles, France.
The Solar Decathlon was created in 2002 by the U.S. Department of Energy as an international annual competition that challenges collegiate teams around the world, giving them an opportunity to design and build energy-efficient solar houses. The TROPIKA house was selected from among only 20 as winner of the public choice award and had a modular construction that combined functionality with an austere esthetic and harmony with the environment
