The luminaires of Paulina Ortiz/ arte + diseño were chosen for illuminating TROPIKA, the house designed by the TEC Team (a multidisciplinary group of Costa Rica Institute of Technology students) and selected to participate in the 2014 Solar Decathlon in Versailles, France.
The Solar Decathlon was created in 2002 by the U.S. Department of Energy as an international annual competition that challenges collegiate teams around the world, giving them an opportunity to design and build energy-efficient solar houses. The TROPIKA house was selected from among only 20 as winner of the public choice award and had a modular construction that combined functionality with an austere esthetic and harmony with the environment

The Mangroove is a bohemian-chic luxury hotel in Papagayo Bay nestled among mangroves and forests on Panama Beach. The hotel is inspired by simple, relaxed and attractive luxury within a modern linear architecture with natural furniture and subtle touches of color that induce guests to bask in its simplicity.
Paulina Ortiz / arte+diseño had the opportunity to work together with Diseño Interno on this hotel, jointly or independently designing several of the luminaires produced for the hotel’s public areas.
